Movements Of Power

Some kids are deep and serious and don’t share or talk much, but there’s a lot going on inside them.

While others were playing, I watched with a deep seriousness and intensity and internalized the Atlantic Ocean as a child—the movements, the roar, the power. Today when I paint, I combine adult emotions and thoughts and the powerful movements I learned as a child to create these works of abstract art.

Here’s a virtual gallery viewing of some of them. Because it’s the ocean, there’s no male or female or sexual identity restrictions—just movements…just power! I love the paintings’ names: Fearless, Strength, I Am So Handsome (even though I’m female), Gushing With Greatness, Death By Frustration, and more.

If you have trouble navigating, just click on a painting and hit NEXT.

Here’s a video/vimeo with a hope, despair, death theme using this art. Enjoy!

In this vimeo, I focused on one painting, Death By Power. With only a palette knife, I used the movements of the ocean to capture the theme. Ever get knocked off your feet by a powerful wave and then get dragged by the undertow as you’re losing orientation in all the moving water and sand? Ever meet someone or a situation that made you feel this way? Enjoy!
